맥북이 ARM 을 사용할 것이다라는 추측은 계속 나오고 있는데 사실 언제나 그렇지만 가능성은 크지 않다. 예전 파워 PC처럼 인텔이 경쟁력을 잃었을 경우라면 모를까 인텔은 여전히 강성하다. 성능에서 ARM을 앞지를 뿐 아니라 절전 성능도 거의 비슷한 수준에 이르렀다. 애플이 자기네가 설계한 ARM을 사용해서 얻는 이익이 있다면 제품 주기를 마음대로 할 수 있다는 것 정도? 하지만 이 정도 이익을 위해 맥에 성능, 호환성 등을 내다 버리는 짓을 하진 않을 것 같다.
